Why has my Magento site become extremely slow?
Hi,
I have a Magento site and its traffic is high. Lately, the site has been becoming slow approximately once a day. About a month ago, it used to become slow about one time every 3 weeks.
As soon as I restart the Apache web server, the site becomes fast again.
Do you think that this is a bandwidth issue? If I increase the bandwidth on my server, will I solve this problem?
Thanks in advance.

I’d recommend checking out softlayer. They saved my cousin a load of money when her current provider kept on insisting that she needed more servers. But yeah sounds like a bandwidth / CPU issue, might wanna upgrade..
Could also be the fact that as the web server gets through RAM it eventually starts swapping it out to disk. What is the memory use like on the server?
A quick solution is to simply pay for fast hosting!

Magento is slow because it is a resource hog. It has a very rich admin interface and Magento continues to add features without properly rebuilding the core code. Its like building a skyscraper on the foundation of a house.
TinyBrick has developed a module called LightSpeed that uses full page caching that makes Magento run a lot faster.
